This review was completed by Camille Morales, staff reviewer with the YA Fantasy GuideThere are many things that make this book so awesome. The plot was very unique. I love the idea of ghosts and how they supposedly have unfinished business, and that’s why they stay. This story entertained me. It made me sad for the main character, and it also made me frustrated for her. The situations she was thrown in, and how she reacted to them, made me realize that she is a great character. The characters were amazing. I liked Joshua, Amelia, Jillian (she reminds me of my sister sometimes) and Jeremiah (Joshua’s dad.) All of these characters, and even the ones you’re not supposed to like, were really interesting. Ruth, Joshua’s grandmother, was creepy. The point is: they all had at least one quality that made them unique. And Amelia is a really good character. She’s very brave and strong, considering what has happened to her. I thought the ending was good enough for it to be a stand-alone, but there will be a sequel. It comes out in 2012. As satisfied as I was with the ending of this book, I will be buying the sequel. I really, really liked this book. I recommend it to everyone that likes a paranormal read.
